John and Sandy's RV Adventure Journal

San Antonio

San Antonio

We had breakfast at the Chuckwagon today and then Jim and Diane moved over to their cabin. Now we are heading to downtown. We toured the Alamo and then headed to the riverwalk. We past by the Bier House so Jim and John needed a couple of the daily specials. Now we took the Rio Taxi Boat all around the river and up through the locks to the Pearl. The Pearl is where the old brewery was. We stopped at the Glory for some cocktails and chips, salsa and guacamole. We watched the mama and baby ducks while waiting for the return boat taxi. We had a nice day so now we headed home. We all needed a dip so we headed to the pool for a while and then we were done.

San Antonio

We picked our friends, Jim and Diane up at the airport around 130p and then headed back to our place. They are staying over in our rv tonight and then moving into a cabin tomorrow. After some snacks and welcome cocktails, we headed to the pool for a while. Now it’s time for burgers and then we relaxed and had an early evening.

San Antonio Missions

We headed out to explore 2 missions today. Our first stop was the Mission Espada. It is the last one on the Mission Trail. We walked the grounds, read about the history and visited the church. We headed up the trail to the Aqueduct to read how they managed the river and got fresh water to drink and for irrigating their crops. Next we stopped at the Mission San Juan to explore and learn about that mission.

San Antonio – Riverwalk

We headed to the Riverwalk to Casa Rio to meet Kirk’s parents, Dennis and Donna, and John’s sister Katie for lunch. We also got to meet for the first time our niece Reagan. She’s 5 months old and is beautiful. After lunch we all walked along the riverwalk and saw some mama ducks with little ducklings. We parted ways and as John and I strolled back along the riverwalk we came across the Bier House and stopped for a cocktail.
