OK, this Florida weather is just no good. We had our fireplace crankin this morning. It’s only 45 degrees. It is sunny and the wind is down but forget this cold weather. We have to get back to the Conch Republic. Luckly, this is our pre-departure day and we are heading back to Lazy Lakes tomorrow. When it warmed up, John and Gil did some fishing and then we packed up and got ready to travel early tomorrow.
Moore Haven FL
This morning was sunny but cool and really windy. We sat outside a while and then headed inside. The sounds I heard last night was baby aligators, the neighbor told us they were out there. I didn’t investigate at the time because it was pouring rain. We headed to the store for supplies we’ll need in the keys and then watched football. It’s still really windy and stayed that way all day.
We got in late last night around 1230am. So this morning we slept in and then had coffee outside with Gil. We saw a beautiful red tailed hawk that landed pretty close to us. We have rain coming in so we got some projects done this morning and then relaxed and did some reading. Late in the evening it was pouring rain and I heard noises outside. Not sure what they were but maybe baby alligators.
We had a full day today. Gil and John had done some research and found a fishing area they wanted to check out in Moore Haven. While they were trying their luck, Betty and I did some reading. Now a little more exploring and then on to Seminole Casino Brighton, just north of Moore Haven. We gambled, had cocktails and then dinner. Gil and Betty kidnapped us and we didn’t get home until 1230am.
