Sugarloaf Key

A few shower around but nice temps around 76 this morning. We headed to Key West early afternoon for the Drag races on Duval at 2pm. This is Key West so these aren’t your normal Drag races, get it? It was pouring rain when we left and it should clear up.
We stopped at Charlie Macs for a beer and then walked down to 801 hoping the rain would stop. It didn’t. So we walked on back and stopped at Irish Kevins for a few. Bradd Shadduck was playing. We met a couple Pete and Jenn on their honeymoon from Michigan and some other couples. Don’t know the guys names but the ladies were Jenn and Doris. We had fun time and I told them to go see Bo Foder, Yo Adrian and Moose. We walked to the Boathouse for happy hour and appetizers. Now were done. We ate too much good stuff and had too much beer. So we headed home and watched a movie.

John was out fishing early. His fishing buddy, Larry is gone and I’m not going at 630am so he was solo. He was back by 9am with nothing. No bites at all. The water is warming and the fish are moving out to cooler waters. It’s overcast but warm. We did some reading and then had espresso martini happy hour in the yard. I had a couple martini’s, Debi and John had beer. We decided to take a lake walk and everything was quiet so we played a few games of pool and then headed back.

Beautiful morning. We read the paper and took our lake walk. John needed a bridge walkabout and I practiced on my ukulele. Now lunch, some reading and we’ll see where the day takes us. We headed down to new places in Key West. First was the Boathouse Pub at Coconut Mallory Resort. We met George and Darlene there for cocktails. Then the four of us went to the Key West VFW for dinner and drinks. Good food, good portions and reasonably priced. We had a great time hanging out with Geo and Dar.
