Sugarloaf Key FL

We took our lake walk and visited with Larry and Jim along the way. John is smoking some fish and I did some ukulele practice. It’s nice temps today around 75 but overcast with rain forecast. John and Larry headed to run bait traps and I did harmonica practice. We got bummed out. Looe Key Tiki canceled the Jam Band due to weather. Now what? We stayed in and watched movies.

Nice morning. We did our lake walk and found out donuts are back at 9am. So we stopped at the clubhouse and visited with friends. We headed back to the clubhouse at 10am for our first 2018 horseshoe games. There were 8 of us so we all played 4 games. Now John needed a walkabout and I did projects. After regrouping, we had happy hour in our yard with Debi and then we kidnapped Debi, Peggy and Linda and walked to Mangrove Mama’s for more happy hour. There were already a group there and we ended up with about 25 of us. As always, some headed out for dinner, some had dinner at Mangroves and some just drinks. Brad Shudduck was playing but had to stop due to the rain. We got pushed inside but finished our drinks, the rain took a break and we were able to walk home.

It’s a cold and windy morning. To cold and windy to sit outside, only 58 with 20mph winds. Richard kidnapped Linda, Peggy, John and I to head to Key West for the Sunday Jazz Jam at the Green Parrot. We met Steve, Sue, Pete, Tina and their daughter Megan and her daughter there. After the Parrot we headed to Heron House for a surprise B’day party for our friend Chickie. It was in the courtyard and set up very nice. They had beer, wine, heavy appetizers, and of course birthday cake. We saw Barry, Sally, Delis, Cyndi, Paul and Holly there and met lots of new friends. Fiona Malloy played a few songs and we all had a great time.
