Our good friend, Mark Scalf passed away yesterday. We have known Mark for 40 years and have had a lot of fun times together. He will be missed but we will always remember all the antics we had together. We did play horseshoes and wouldn’t you know it, I got a 6 pack (2 ringers) on my practice shots. That was probably Mark saying Hi. After happy hour in our yard with Debi, we kidnapped Linda and Larry and walked to Mangrove Mama’s for our Lazy Lake happy hour evening.

Nice morning. We did our lake walk and found out donuts are back at 9am. So we stopped at the clubhouse and visited with friends. We headed back to the clubhouse at 10am for our first 2018 horseshoe games. There were 8 of us so we all played 4 games. Now John needed a walkabout and I did projects. After regrouping, we had happy hour in our yard with Debi and then we kidnapped Debi, Peggy and Linda and walked to Mangrove Mama’s for more happy hour. There were already a group there and we ended up with about 25 of us. As always, some headed out for dinner, some had dinner at Mangroves and some just drinks. Brad Shudduck was playing but had to stop due to the rain. We got pushed inside but finished our drinks, the rain took a break and we were able to walk home.

Happy New Year Day! We enjoyed coffee and the newspaper outside with 73 degrees temps while watching our nature window. We took a nice walkabout around the lake and through the park wishing everyone Happy New Year. We saw Jimmy the Iguana hangin out and relaxing. John and Larry had to get their bait traps and then John headed for a 6 mile walkabout. I was on a mission to update my pics and journal from last night.

It is Monday, so that means Mangrove Mama’s for happy hour. We walked to Mangroves and collected Linda along the way. We met Debi, Craig, Douglas, Chuck and Richard there. Brad Shudduck was playing guitar and singing tonight. We had some cocktails and headed home early.
